Are you looking for ideas for your bilingual homeschool?

I keep a log of the activities and curricula we like!

What you’ll find on our site

I try to keep this resource as helpful and thorough as possible, but not so detailed so as to not bog you down with information or make you think there’s only one way to homeschool in two languages.

It’s the kind of site I wish existed back when I started our homeschool :).

Picks

If you want to get a glimpse into what a bilingual homeschool uses in its day-to-day, our Recommended Picks are where I document such activities.

I include an official description, my opinion of it, and key notes so you can make an informed decision.

“Why” Posts

These posts aim to answer many key questions on homeschooling, and, specifically, on why we do some of the things we’ve chosen to do.

In them I explain our curriculum choices, our schedule, and other decisions that may help you develop your own perspective.

Resources

(TBA) I enjoy finding that one thing that can help our kids learn a particular concept better. I also cherish learning how to become a better Catholic Christian, wife, mother, and teacher.

My Resources sections include some of our favorite tools, etc. for your homeschool AND for Mom.

This site is for you if:

  • YOU’RE BILINGUAL: If you already speak two+ languages, you might better understand my philosophy and the ways I do and teach things.
  • YOU DON’T NEED A LOT OF STRUCTURE: I’m all for following a curriculum because I value directions, but I also like improvising and customizing our kids’ education.
  • YOU LIKE SPANISH-LANGUAGE AND BILINGUAL BOOKS: We read a lot of books in Spanish and Spanish/English, and invite you to join us!

This site is NOT for you if:

  • YOU’RE MONOLINGUAL: I don’t know how to learn a second language as an adult, so I don’t know what I’d prioritize in your homeschool if you’re learning another language with your child(ren).
  • YOU’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS IT ALL: I’m still learning, along with our children, and I don’t have all the answers. I just do what works, even if it involves a little trial-and-error.
  • YOU’D RATHER READ BOOKS ONLY IN ENGLISH: That just doesn’t fly in our home. We prioritize finding and reading books in Spanish (and in both languages) because bilingualism is important.
Let’s learn together!

I’m no expert, so come join me!

Let’s share experiences, discuss what’s worked or didn’t, talk about what curriculum you’re using, tell me your wins or where you’d like to improve… all on this site!

A few good posts to get you started:
