An Honest Review of Playing Preschool

Official Description

… Playing Preschool is geared towards children ages 2.5 to 5 years old. This is preschool made easy: sequenced, hands-on activities in a simple daily lesson plan. Playing Preschool combines reading, math, science, and art into a curriculum that’s as fun and entertaining as it is educational.

My Opinion

Back when I was in social media and into many of the fads that seem to plague gullible stay-at-home moms/homeschoolers …

Playing Preschool disappointed me. I know it’s supposed to be fun, wholesome, and easy, but for some reason, I just couldn’t get the hang of it and I wasn’t a big fan. The activities seem(ed) too simplistic for me, and while I’d rather simplify instead of complicate something for a small child, at the same time, the lack of a challenge can foment disinterest.

I know many families like it, but I didn’t find it very didactic or like our oldest was getting much out of it the couple times that we tried it.

One of the activities involved making stamps out of apples and I HATE playing with food, so that got a “No, Thanks” from me.

It wasn’t a loss entirely, though. I ended up giving it to my mom so she can use it for “Grandma School” with our kids for when they get to spend the day with her. Because this doesn’t happen very often, she’ll get to choose from lots of activities.
